Breeder Status:
We have been breeding Kennel Club registered pedigree Labradors for eight years. Our venture into breeding the Labradoodle in 2007 (not a breed recognised by the Kennel Club UK) affords exactly the same research, care and attention to health, welfare, socialisation and training. In addition, we insist on building a relationship with our buyers either by email, telephone or contact visits. We do not allow prospective buyers to purchase a puppy using MasterCard or Visa.
The service we offer to our new puppy owner is:
- Breeding stock is Kennel Club registered.
- We strictly follow the UK Labradoodle Code of Practice for Breeders regarding minimum/maximum age and number/frequency of litters (see link).
- All Dams and Sires are hip scored (below the breed average) and have current annual eye certificates (available for inspection).
- The puppies are well socialised and whelped in our home. Advice is given regarding continuation of socialisation, exercise and future training.
- A web cam facility allows buyers to view the litter and ensure the puppies are housed in clean and appropriate accommodation at all times
- A daily updated blog allows buyers to follow the progress of their puppy which includes photographs of development.
- Written advice is given regarding feeding and worming programmes.
- Written record is provided on the immunisation measures taken if the puppies are 8 weeks old or more.
- Post sales telephone or email advice is provided.
- Whelping facilities accord with good practice.
- A contract of sale is provided.
- A commitment to help, if necessary, with the re-homing of a dog, for whatever reason, throughout the dog's lifetime.
- Puppy food, a large soft toy smelling of siblings and a comfort blanket are provided with each puppy.
- A record on CD of the birth and 8 week life of their puppy.
Our code of ethics:
We work to a code of ethics in order to protect our dogs and puppies and our potential new owners. We pride ourselves on our honour and integrity and will not compromise our high standards. We promote responsible breeding and dog ownership giving our animals the best care to the highest standard thus maximising the potential of the dog.
We only sell puppies to individuals who we believe will take full responsibility of ownership and training. A commitment to attend a short course of puppy training classes is required even if you are an experienced dog trainer/owner.
